Looking for a tool to reduce stress and inner turmoil? Why not try shadow work?


WHAT IS SHADOWWORK?


Shadow work is about looking at all your inner wounds, the negative traits that you have suppressed like anger, jealousy, greed, or shame, bringing them to the surface to be healed, released or integrated.


Your "Shadows “are the unconscious aspects of yourself that you may find unacceptable, shameful, or difficult to acknowledge including emotions that you suppress because they conflict with the societal norms.


If you want to shift or evolve your consciousness then you need to face, heal, integrate, embrace all aspects of self, including those aspects that you might feel uncomfortable with.


Until you face your own shadows you will continue to see them in others because the world outside is only a reflection of the world inside.


HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED TO DO SHADOWWORK?


When you encounter the same challenges, conflicts, or issues in your life over and over it is an indication that there are underlying patterns or aspects of you that need to be brought to the surface to be healed.


You have Intense emotional reactions that seem disproportionate to the situation. This is a clear indication that there are unresolved aspects of yourself that need to be addressed.

If you frequently find yourself judging or reacting strongly to certain traits or behaviours in others, it may be a reflection of aspects of yourself that you're projecting onto them.


If you are feeling stuck, unfulfilled, or lack direction in life it can be an indication that there are parts of yourself that you haven't fully integrated.


THE IMPACT OF NOT HEALING YOUR SHADOWS


You project those unhealed shadows onto people around you because everything is a mirror (you see in others the traits or behaviours that you are unwilling to recognize in yourself)

Your Unhealed wounds create barriers to spiritual awakening and leave you stuck in repetitive patterns.


HOW CAN YOU HEAL YOUR SHADOWSELF?


Pay attention to recurring thought patterns triggers and areas of discomfort. Use tools like Journaling, Meditation, mindfulness or an authentic healer to assist with clearance of those shadows.


Identify the aspects of you that you are suppressing, deny or disowning like anger, jealousy, insecurity, vulnerability, past traumas or unresolved emotions.  Sit with these emotions and offer love and healing to the parts of you that were hurt or neglected in the past.


CONCLUSION


When you decide to do the inner work of facing Your shadows you will not only transform  yourself but also your perceptions of the world and YOUR relationships with others.
