Reiki is an natural ancient Japanese alternative medicine energy healing therapy that restores and balances the body’s energy centers. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy"
Reiki treats the body, mind, and spirit. It creates many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of wellbeing. Further information on Reiki-
In 1920s Dr Mikao Usui did a 21-day practice on Mount Kurama of prayer and fasting, and it was during those 21 days that Usui developed Reiki. In 1922 Dr Usui settled in Tokyo and set up practice to teach Reiki and give treatments. In 1923 there was a great earthquake and during that time, it was foretold that Dr Usui went out every morning to go around the town to cure and save an innumerable number of people.
Reiki was brought to the west by Hwayo Takata a Japanese emigrant who grew up in Hawaii but returned to Japan to seek treatment for a tumour, gallstones, and appendicitis. She went to Dr. Hayashi's Reiki clinic to receive daily Reiki treatment and was completed healed in 4 months. She convinced Hayashi to teach her Reiki and initiate her as a Reik Master.
